When the British vessel Augusta exploded in the Delaware River the day after the Battle of Red Bank in October of 1777, 240 years ago, people reported hearing the BOOM across the entire region. Join The Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield Park for a walking tour to learn about the impact this event had on Red Bank as a military fort and a home and where you can see material traces of this vessel today.
