8 South Jersey Farms that are Ready for Spring

Spring is finally here, which means farms all over South Jersey are opening up their barn doors once again! From delicious baked goods to fresh fruits and vegetables, these South Jersey farms have it all! Some are even offering special spring activities and events you don’t want to miss!

1. Coombs Barnyard
20 Route 77, Elmer, NJ

Coombs Barnyard is run by sisters Jennifer Coombs-Kelly and Amanda Coombs-Shimp, who are the ninth generation on the family farm. The barnyard hosts a variety of spring family fun activities including their annual Egg and Veggie Hunt on April 13th and 20th! Go on a hayride, visit with the barnyard animals, and even visit with the Easter Bunny!


2. Creamy Acres
448 Lincoln Mill Road, Mullica Hill, NJ

Nestled between hilly fields and dairy cow pastures, Creamy Acres has been around since 1968. On April 6th, 13th, 19th and 20th, kids can take a hayride down the bunny trail visit bunny land! Enjoy an egg hunt, play games, visit the barnyard petting area. Adults can visit the Garden Center and see what’s HOT this year for your garden and flower bed needs.

3. Duffield’s Farm Market
280 Chapel Heights Road, Sewell, NJ

Welcome spring and bring the kids to visit with the Easter Bunny at Duffield’s Farm Market! Take a gayride to Bunny Egg-cres and pick eggs to trade in for a chocolate treat. Stop by the market parking lot to see the colorful selection of flowers. Their greenhouse opens in mid-April and will have a wide selection of bedding plants, vegetable plants, hanging baskets, potted plants and more! Don’t miss Duffield’s 1st Annual “Down to Earth” Food Truck Festival will be held on April 27th!


4. Hill Creek Farms
1631 State Highway, Mullica Hill, NJ

Are you looking for a fun, educational and downright delicious outing with your family? Then come on out to Hill Creek Farms! This 24-acre local produce farm has two huge apple orchards with over 17,000 apple trees, plus an orchard of plums, Asian pears, and nectarines. 


5. Indian Acres Tree Farm
111 Tuckerton Road, Medford, NJ

Join Indian Acres for an outdoor flea market and yard sale on April 13th, 20th and 27th! The market will feature crafters and local businesses promoting their goods, lots of delicious food including apple cider doughnuts, and a great free play area for the kids! It will be a fun time for the whole family!

6. Johnson’s Corner Farm
133 Church Road, Medford, NJ

Kick off the 2019 season with Johnson’s Corner Farm during their Welcome Back Weekend on March 30th and 31st! You and your family can enjoy FREE Farm Tour Hayrides, FREE admission to the Discovery Barnyard and Animal Farm, along with dollar hot dogs. 


7. Pope’s Gardens
1146 Old White Horse Pike, Waterford Township, NJ

Open March 1st through October 31st, Pope’s Gardens is a 10-acre nursery and garden center featuring over 800 varieties of perennials which are all grown on the premises. They sell annual and vegetable plants, hanging baskets, herb plants, mulches, soils, garden supplies, bird baths and more. They even have usual farm animals you can visit such as Scottish Highland cows, alpacas, emus, sheep, pheasants, and turkeys. Pope’s Gardens also offers gardening classes.

8. Springdale Farm Market
1638 South Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ

Springdale Farm Market will re-open for the season on March 22nd! They grow over 35 different fruits and vegetables, and carry even more. Also be sure you stop by the bakery for some fresh apple cider doughnuts, home baked pies, breads, muffins, cakes, cookies and more.
