9 South Jersey “Pick Your Own” Farms – Summer Edition

It’s called The Garden State for a reason! Visit South Jersey has the Top 9 Pick Your Own Farms in the area! From blueberries and peaches to sweet corn and string beans, enjoy the peak of the summer harvest and get Jersey Fresh!  

 

1. Duffield’s Farm, Sewell
From yoga to hayrides to food truck festivals, there’s always something going on at Duffield’s Farm! Duffield’s raises over 50 varieties of vegetables and fruits! Starting in mid-to-late August, visitors will be able to pick your own apples.

2. Emery’s Berry Farm, New Egypt
Emery’s is a 60 acre farm, and 20 of those acres are dedicated to blueberries! Their blueberries are are usually available from mid-June through July. Pick your own berries daily. They currently grow eight varieties of high-bush blueberries: Weymouth, Duke, Blueray, Bluecrop, Berley, Darrow, Chandler, and Ellitot. Stop by the Farm Market for blueberries in pints, pies, muffins, scones, and more.

3. Fred + III, Pemberton Township
Pick your own blueberries seven days a week at Fred + III! Strap a picking bucket around your waist and pick as many blueberries as your heart desires (picking buckets hold about 6 pounds of berries!). Fred + III grows a number of blueberry varieties including Bluecrop, Elliots, Dukes, and Walcotts.

4. Haines Berry Farm, Pemberton Township
Haines Berry Farm offers wagon rides to their well-manicured fields to pick your own blueberries! They also sell freshly picked ten-pound boxes, as well as blueberry honey, jams, toppings, and more. Their 2018 summer season runs from June 28th through July 22nd.

5. Johnson’s Corner Farm, Medford
Enjoy the peak of the Summer Harvest at Johnson’s Corner Farm! Take a hayride and pick your own blueberries, sweet corn, peaches, and string beans. Afterwards, stop by the bakery for pie, cake, doughnuts, bread, and side dishes. They also have a Discovery Barnyard and Animal Farm that is perfect for children!

6. Lindsay’s Farm, Hammonton
Blueberries are available for sale at Lindsay’s Farm from mid-June through early August. This family farm of has been operating since 1941 and has a relaxed atmosphere where you can commune with nature and harvest delicious fruits. Because they are are small farm, Lindsay’s cannot accommodate large crowds; it is best to call ahead before visiting.

7. Mood’s Farm Market , Mullica Hill
Mood’s Farm Market specializes in pick your own fruit starting with sweet cherries in June and finishing with pumpkins in October. Available for picking during the summer months are blueberries, sweet plums, peaches, nectarines, blackberries, pears, and grapes.

8. Robson’s Farm, Wrightstown
Robson’s Farm is a fourth generation orchard, fruit, vegetable, and cut flower farm. Bring your friends, co-workers, little ones, bridesmaids, or just yourself to walk up and down rows of pick your own specialty flowers!

9. Stevens Blueberries, New Lisbon
Grab a basket, tie it around your waste, and pick your own blueberries at Stevens Blueberries! They have a wide variety of berries including Weymouths, Berkeleys, Stanleys, Elizabeths, and more. Started in 1951, half of their blueberry field still contains original crops to this day. On July 28th & 29th Stevens Blueberries will be participating in the first ever BioBlitz at Whitesbog Village, a family fun day filled with science, live animals, delicious food, fun activities, and more!
