The Annual Earth Fair will celebrate its 25th year on June 10. The annual event made its debut on June 4, 1993 at Liberty Lakes in Mansfield. In 2000, the event moved to Smithville Park in Eastampton where it quickly became the largest festival held at the park each year.

Earth Fair combines environmental education with fun for the whole family featuring exhibits that feature the latest in “green living”. With a strong focus on recycling, visitors learn how to leave our planet for future generations to come.

Entertainment with a message has been the theme for children that attend the annual event, with many organizations returning to the fair each year!  Since 2003, children have been making music with “Bash the Trash”“, a musical playground made exclusively out of recycled or unwanted materials, showing them that one person’s trash can indeed be turned into something useful.

In 2006, Burlington County Recycling department created a “Stop n’ Drop” recycling center for one day, where visitors could stop and drop old documents to be shredded on site. This will again be in place this year at the fair.

In 2007, with nearly 200 exhibitors, the fair drew thousands of visitors. The Sustainable Living Tent featured green living solutions and has been a staple highlight each year.

This year, the fair will offer Rain Barrel Workshops where you take home your own Rain Barrel. Mike McGrath from WHYY’s You Bet Your Garden will prove “you can have a lawn and diversity too!” New for kids this year will be a variety of Science themed programs, such as Spectacular Science show and Planet Pirates.

The event is free and begins at 10 a.m.
