The Road Company presents Billy Elliot the Musical, based on the 2000 film, Billy Elliot. with music by Elton John. It is the story of a young boy by the name of Billy Elliot. He takes boxing lessons until one day finds his true passion lies in ballet. Billy’s passion for ballet divides his family and everyone is left to decide where their loyalty lies.

Billy begins to secretly take lessons with the intention to audition for a prestigious ballet school in London. Meanwhile his father and brother stand at the picket line, protesting. Billy’s interest in dance has isolated himself from his family and his father must make a choice between two sons.

This poignant story questions the strength of pride versus loyalty.

This hit musical received 4 Olivier awards and 10 Tony awards upon its Broadway transfer in 2008. Subsequently, this story has been told all over the world through many productions. Billy Elliot the Musical is directed by Scott Angehr.
