Breaking the Glass Ceiling: A Celebration of Women in Choreography is an evening of original choreography by Helen Simoneau, Dawn Marie Bazemore, and Leslie Elkins, plus a post-performance artist talk moderated by dancer/scholar Dr. Brenda Dixon Gottschild presented during Women’s History Month and as part of the Marie Rader Presenting Series. This public performance seeks to honor women making an impact as choreographers and leaders in the world of dance. Audience members are invited to enjoy a pre-performance reception in the lobby beginning at 6:00 p.m. The program is co-sponsored by Rowan University’s College of Performing Arts, Department of Theatre & Dance, Women’s and Gender Studies Program, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, The Women’s Center, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This project was made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
