Kemble UMC Celebrates 130th With “Hear Our Heart” Concert

In conjunction with Woodbury Main Street Block Party, Saturday, October 6th, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Woodbury, NJ— Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church, considered one of Gloucester County’s oldest and most historic churches, celebrates the 130th Anniversary of its original dedication at its iconic 19 S. Broad St., Woodbury, location on the weekend of October 6th and 7th. While its high steeple and gothic design serve as central landmarks to locals and visitors alike, the ministry itself is better known as “the church in the heart of the city with the city in its heart,” shares Rev. Dr. Michael Harriott, who has served as Kemble’s Pastor since 2010.

Celebration plans include a “Hear Our Heart” 130th Anniversary concert on Saturday, October 6th from 12 noon to 4 p.m., held as part of this year’s revived Woodbury Main Street Block Party.  The concert, hosted on the church’s front steps, features notable performers including The Voice contestant Dawson Coyle, The Spiritual Five gospel group, and Zoay jazz band. The church’s adult and youth choirs, guest soloists, and presentations by Woodbury dignitaries will round out the four hour concert timeline.  The event also includes complimentary refreshments and guided church tours.

On Sunday, October 7th, Kemble invites the community to attend its 130th Anniversary dedication service and celebration, starting at 10:45 a.m. To learn more about the 130th Anniversary concert or dedication service, please visit or contact the church office at 856-845-1627.
