An evening of thrills begins with the rollicking overture to Ruslan and Ludmila.  In her Symphony in C debut, pianist Janice Carissa performs Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and Stilian Kirov unites Symphony in C’s formidable forces in Sibelius’ First Symphony, which evokes heroic and atmospheric themes from the composer’s native Finland.
