Grammy winner Eugene Drucker and Roberta Cooper are joined by NY Philharmonic principal bass Timothy Cobb, pianist Gili Melamed-Lev, and violist William Frampton for Schubert’s joyful “Trout” Quintet. This quintet is distinctive because the unusual string quartet instrumentation includes the bass. A youthful Schubert wrote this work  nicknamed “Trout” because the fourth movement consists of variations on a previous Lied “Die Forelle” (“The Trout”). Also on program, “The Swan” from Carnival of the Animals by Camille St. Saëns.

This program is made possible in part by funding from The Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Rowan College of South Jersey, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
