It’s the holiday season, and we rounded up the top holiday events happening throughout South Jersey. From markets, to tree lightings, fireworks, and candlelight shopping, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy!

Burlington County

Mount Laurel Township Annual Tree Lighting
December 3rd | 6PM-9PM


Taking place at 118 Creek Road from 6-9:00pm, there will be fun activities including pictures with Santa, face painting, brewery selections for adults, visit from Elsa and Buddy The Elf, and more! The Mount Laurel Fire Department will bring Santa on the fire truck at 6:00pm to kick off the event. Taking place at 118 Creek Road in Mount Laurel from 6-9:00pm.

Candlelight Christmas Tours at Smithville Mansion
December 3rd, 10th, 17th, 23rd & 30th at 7:00 PM & 7:30 PM


Enjoy the splendor of a Christmas past with a docent-guided Holiday tour.
The 1840 Greek Revival Mansion is decorated in all manner of Victorian charm. With over 20 rooms in the Mansion, civic groups, garden clubs, and individuals participate in decorating the Mansion. Reservations are required for candlelight tours. Cost: $8.00 per person.

Dickens Festival on Main Street Medford
December 4th | 4:30PM-9PM


Main Street in Medford will be transformed into a quaint winter wonderland, featuring holiday festivities galore with an old-time flair. The festival is free and typically attracts more than 10,000 people from Medford and many surrounding communities. Locals never fail to catch up with old friends on the street; there’s something for everyone! This event is co-hosted by the Main Street Merchants & the Medford Business Association

Mount Laurel Township’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Shops at Rancocas Woods will take place on Friday, Dec 3rd at 6:30pm. Be sure to arrive early to secure a spot as Creek Road between Woolman’s and Fleetwood will be temporarily closed beginning at 6:15pm. Handel’s Messiah at the Burlington County Library
December 4th | 2PM


THE MESSIAH will be presented at the Burlington County Library Auditorium in Westhampton, NJ. The single performance is scheduled for Saturday, December 4 at 2:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public, but seats are limited. Covid protocols are in place and all those attending the concert must wear a mask while in the building. Fire and Ice Festival in Mount Holly

Once again on Saturday January 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM downtown Mount Holly will be the place to warm your tummy with great chili, see lots of icy artistic eye candy, and hear Suze & Watson play everything from show tunes to Springsteen from the Friant’s display window on High Street. This event is a free family friendly fun tradition.

Christmas Underwater!

Christmas Underwater returns to Adventure Aquarium for its 13th season! Marvel at the World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree, experience holiday décor throughout the entire Aquarium, enjoy lively interactive shows and come face-to-face with Scuba Santa as he dives with sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and more fishy friends! Christmas Underwater is back for a limited-time only, Nov. 26 through Dec. 24. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Parade of Lights 2021
December 3rd | 6:30PM

The annual Parade of Lights will kick off with fire trucks and floats strung in glittering lights along the perimeter of the Knight Park beginning at Grant Avenue and Browning Road. Trucks from fire companies and organizations all over the region compete for top honors and are sure to delight spectators.

BEST VIEWING AREA:
Along the Knight Park side of Park Avenue. TIP: Bring a Flashlight for fun and safety in the park. Bring some hot chocolate and snuggle up for great views.


Barclay Farmstead Holiday House 2021
December 3rd-5th | 4PM-8PM

Step back in time to the simplicity and beauty of a candlelit 19th century Quaker Christmas.  Costumed interpreters will explore the lives and times of the people who lived at this historic house, which is on the US and NJ Register of Historic Places. Timed tours every hour on the hour, from 4 to 8, Friday through Sunday. All ages welcome, but space is limited!  Timed tickets and masks are required.


Decemberfest Holiday Pop-Ups in Collingswood

Holiday Train Display at Battleship NJ

Experience a Holiday Train Display Aboard the Battleship! A new Holiday model train display will be available for guests to experience in the Wardroom from Saturday, Dec. 11 through Sunday Dec. 26. This display, courtesy of the South Jersey Garden Railroad Society (SJGRS), will be free to experience with a tour of the Battleship. The Battleship will be open for tours everyday in December,  except for Christmas, Dec. 25.

Come celebrate this holiday season with the City of Woodbury’s 1st Annual Festival of Lights on Saturday, December 4 from 6 – 8 pm.

Enjoy the tree lighting, visit from Santa, hot cocoa and cookies for the children, kids activities led by the 21st Century Club of the Woodbury School District, holiday carols with the Woodbury School Choir, and face painting by Rachel Beatty and Julie Otto.


The Magic of Christmas at Old Stone Historic House

The Holiday Tradition is back! The Magic of Christmas will kick off at the Gazebo at 530pm when Santa arrives for their tree lighting ceremony! After that he is available for photos (photo/frame available for purchase cash only/or take your own), the bake sale is open, live music, Polar Express readings, mail your letters to Santa and more!

Season of Light at Edelman Planetarium

Light up the cold dark season with a warm and bright holiday show! Season of Light explores the reasons humans are so fascinated with lighting up our lives during the December holiday season. It’s an exploration of the astronomical meanings behind seasonal traditions, including the “Star over Bethlehem”. This show traces the history and development of many of the world’s most endearing holiday customs, all of which involve lighting up the winter season — from the burning Yule log, sparkling Christmas tree lights and candles in windows, to the lighting of luminarias in the American Southwest and the traditional ritual of the Hanukkah Menorah.

Holiday traditions await you at Creamy Acres as they transform the dairy farm into a Christmas Wonderland filled with huge sparkling light displays, a Musical Dancing Tree light show and lights galore. Woodstown by Candlelight

Plan a visit to historic Woodstown for the 43nd Annual Woodstown Candlelight Tour. This charming village predates the Revolutionary War and is home to a number of Victorian residences and other structures. Get into the holiday spirit by spending the evening touring seasonally decorated homes, businesses, and churches! Visitors are also encouraged to shop at local merchants or at the annual craft fair located in Borough Hall. There will be carolers, homemade cookies, wassail, and a variety of other musical entertainments. Proceeds benefit the Pilesgrove-Woodstown Historical Society.
