DESCRIPTION:MOORESTOWN\, NJ — The award-winning\, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will perform “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” two more times at First Methodist Church (FMC)\, 446 E. Camden Avenue\, on these dates and times: \nThursday\, August 22 @ 7 PM\nFriday\, August 23 @ 11 AM \n“Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” concludes the busiest portion of MTC’s 2024 Season\, as it will present 38 performances of six different musicals in the 54 days between July 1 and August 23. (These previous summer musicals were: “Cinderella\, Youth Edition”\, “Grease\, School Version”\, “Fiddler On The Roof”\, “Willy Wonka JR.”\, and “RENT”). You can purchase tickets for “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org. In the fall\, MTC will bring back both “Scenes & Songs” (our sixth version) and “Elf The Musical JR.”. \nIn “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.”\, MTC’s 65-member Children’s Cast of 1st through 11th graders will bring to life the beloved characters from the 1971 Hollywood movie and 1984 Broadway musical\, including ‘Belle’\, the ‘Prince’ / ‘Beast’\, ‘Gaston’\, ‘Maurice’\, ‘Lumiere’\, ‘Cogsworth’\, ‘Le Fou’\, ‘Chip’\, and ‘Mrs. Potts’\, among others. The score by Alan Menken\, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice\, includes great songs like “Belle”\, “Home”\, “Gaston”\, “Be Our Guest”\, “Human Again”\, and the Academy Award winning title song. \nThis musical has the following Production Staff: Producers Mark Morgan and Carol Ann Murray\, Director Corinne Main (who has ‘Belle’ in both of MTC’s Main Stage versions of this musical in ’09 and ’19)\, Vocal Directors Carol Ann Murray\, Giovanna Torchia\, and Nick Williams\, Choreographer Brenna McQuoid\, Costume Director Thom Sirkot\, and Tech Director Jack Morgan. \n“Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” is the 22nd production\, and 20th musical\, that MTC is performing in its new theater home in FMC’s Fellowship Hall. All Reserved Seat Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. They can be purchased online at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org or at the door one hour before curtain time. \nDisney Theatricals is putting this musical into their ‘vault’ in April 2025 as they prepare the full-length version of the musical for a new national tour that they hope will end with a new Broadway revival.
