SUMMARY:Moorestown: Rancocas Project: A Multimedia Storytelling Performance
DESCRIPTION:Perkins Center for the Arts – Outdoor Stage on Evergreen Lawn\nFree & Family-Friendly! \nJoin us for Rancocas Project Crankie Performance\, a powerful outdoor storytelling experience that brings together art\, history\, and community voices to explore the impact of climate change right here in Burlington County \nThrough a captivating crankie performance—a hand-cranked moving picture show accompanied by live music—artist Jin Jung will bring locally sourced\, stories to life. From flood victims to a self-appointed guardian of a creek\, and a family whose deep connection to nature almost jeopardized their dreams\, the narratives featured in this multimedia presentation reflect the challenges and resilience of our community in the face of environmental change. Featuring original artwork\, interviews and media clips\, shared experiences of environmental change will be presented in a fragmented\, collaged\, and reimagined format\, weaving a common thread throughout the performance. In addition\, the show will be accompanied by an original score written and performed by Julian Cartright. The event will spark meaningful conversations about climate resilience and our shared connection to nature. \nBring the whole family\, enjoy the fresh air\, and be part of an unforgettable evening that blends history\, creativity\, and a vision for a more sustainable future. \nRead more about the year-long project and Jin below. \nThis program is presented by Perkins Center for the Arts and artist Jin Jung and is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the New Jersey Coastal Management Program\, Department of Environmental Protection – in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts
