We are especially honored to have as our host for the evening Collingswood Mayor Daniela Solano-Ward.” \nKerry Richards\, South Jersey Film Cooperative coordinator\, remarked\, “We are so proud to be bringing back this important event.” \nThe Scottish Rite Auditorium is located at 315 White Horse Pike\, Collingswood\, NJ. This eclectic showcase combines award-winning films from the past with new global festival honorees\, creating a rare opportunity for audiences to view world-class short films on a real cinema screen. Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman (Juno\, Up in the Air\, Thank You for Smoking\, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife) called this event “the best short-film show I’ve ever seen.” The October presentation will feature the best in short film comedy\, drama\, and animation in a fast-paced two-hour program. \nFor more information call 732-359-6467 or email info@gsff.org. Since the establishment of the Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Program\, South Jersey has become a destination to produce independent films\, major motion pictures and television series. South Jersey offers a vast landscape of urban areas\, suburbs\, rural farmland\, waterways\, and historical sites and unique settings. \nAbout Asbury Shorts USA: Founded in 1981 on Long Island\, Asbury Shorts USA was first presented at the Westbridge Playhouse and the Westbury Civic Center. In 1987\, the show relocated to Manhattan and from then on has annually screened globally honored short films to this day\, introduced by celebrity guest hosts. Since 2000\, The Asbury Short Film Concert has reeled into theaters from Berlin to Los Angeles\, with many other tour stops in between. \nAbout the Garden State Film Festival:\nTHE GARDEN STATE FILM FESTIVAL is New Jersey’s Premier Independent Film Festival®. Now in its 24th year\, a 501-c-3 non-profit organization created to promote the art of filmmaking on all levels\, this globally recognized festival also provides creative arts education programs and creates a forum where local and international independent filmmakers can exhibit their work. As the pulse of the next generation of filmmakers\, the GSFF leads the way in nurturing and teaching emerging high school talent while celebrating seasoned filmmakers and their craft. Their outreach programs also support the U.S. Military\, seniors\, children and under-resourced populations. Since 2003\, thousands of films have made their public premieres\, hundreds of thousands of people from around the world have attended and the total infusion of cash to local businesses since inception has exceeded $10 million. SUMMARY:American Harmony
DESCRIPTION:The world may define harmony as a combination of musical sounds considered to be pleasing. The Lettermen define harmony as Lettermenizing. Since the groups inception The Lettermen have always taken a current song of the day and put their 3-part harmony to it which is called Lettermenizing a song. \nDonovan Tea\, Bobby Poynton and Rob Gulack\, each of whom are entertainers in their own right\, have kept the meaning of harmony alive with their soft\, romantic\, harmonic blend of music which is as popular with their fans today as it was in 1961 when The Lettermen recorded their first hit\, “The Way You Look Tonight”. \nFor The Lettermen debut single record in the summer of 1961\, Capitol Records decided to put a romantic ballad on the B-side of “That’s My Desire”\, which was an attempt at a doo-wop single\, figuring radio stations would have to play the A-side because the B-side was so sweet\, and slow\,\nand did not necessarily encompass the commercial sound of the day. \nThe B-side was “The Way You Look Tonight”. Soft\, melodic and romantic\, it was a departure from the rock ‘n’ roll music of the day. Eventually\, listener requests made it a must for radio station play lists nationwide. The song shot to No. 13\, on the Billboard chart. The group’s second single that year did even better. “When I Fall In Love\,” another soft\, slow ballad hit No.7\, establishing The Lettermen as the most romantic singing group of a generation. \nThe Lettermen have recorded over 75 albums – eighteen gold records internationally – and a myriad of hits including “When I Fall In Love”\, “Goin’ Out Of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” to name just a few. They continue to perform interesting\, updated arrangements of several classics such as “The Way You Tonight” and “Theme From A Summer Place”. \nWhile always honoring their roots\, audiences are showing a resounding love for the “Letterminized” new arrangements of “Never Enough” from the mega-hit The Greatest Showman\, “Sugar” Medley (“I Can’t Help Myself”\, “Sugar”\, “How Sweet It Is”) and “Happy” Medley (“Happy”\, “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy”\, “Happy Together”). \nThese talented individuals interestingly play with the harmonies on songs like “Suspicious Minds”\, “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and “Over The Rainbow”. Their amazing vocals continually swoop over one another\, mesmerizing audiences all over the world. \nThe one constant that has remained through the years is the unique three-part harmony as only The Lettermen can achieve. Though musical tastes have changed over the years\, The Lettermen legacy continues. Harmony will always endure the true test of time – just as The Lettermen have stood the test of time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe only authorized ticket sellers for this performance are the  Scottish Rite Auditorium Box Office\, and etix.com. The tickets available on etix are a separate inventory from those available at the Box Office and have different fees. Box Office tickets can be purchased over the phone or in person.

An extraordinary Grammy Award® winning renaissance artist – and self-described “simple man” – Nash was inducted twice into the Songwriters Hall of Fame\, for his work with CSN and his work as a solo artist. \nTowering above virtually everything that Graham Nash has accomplished in his long and multi-faceted career\, stands the litany of songs that he has written and introduced to the soundtrack of our lives for nearly six decades. \nNash’s remarkable body of work began with his contributions to the Hollies opus from 1964 to ’68\, including “Stop Stop Stop\,” and “On A Carousel\,” among others. \nThe classic union of Crosby\, Stills & Nash (& Young) yielded songs that are lightning rods embedded in our DNA\, starting with Nash’s “Marrakesh Express\,” “Pre-Road Downs” and “Lady of the Island\,” from the first Crosby\, Stills & Nash LP and his iconic “Teach Your Children” and “Our House” from CSNY’s Déjà Vu. \nNash’s career as a solo artist took flight in 1971\, beginning with two landmark albums\, Songs For Beginners and Wild Tales which further showcased the depths of his abilities as a singer and songwriter\, yielding such favorites as “Chicago/We Can Change the World” and “Military Madness”. SUMMARY:Scottish Rite Concert Series: KILLER QUEEN
DESCRIPTION:Killer Queen\nA Tribute to Queen\nFeaturing Patrick Myers Freddie Mercury\n\nFriday\, September 27\, 2024 \nDoors: 7:00 pm/ Show: 8:00 pm \nTickets: $39.50\, $49.50\, $65.00\,  \nScottish Rite Auditorium Member Presale: Wednesday\, April 10 \n(available to Scottish Rite Auditorium Members only. Available for purchase on etix and at the Box Office) \nGeneral On Sale: Thursday\, April 10 at 10 am \nLead singer Patrick Myers said “It’s been an amazing journey. That first show changed my life. We thought our band would last maybe a summer at the most but it’s a very addictive thing performing these songs. The concerts grew and grew and we’ve ended up playing and selling out the same arenas that Queen played at their peak. It’s been quite a surreal ride. Becoming a regular performer at Red Rocks Arena in America is another highlight. The Beatles\, U2\, Springsteen\, and Dylan all played on that stage. It’s got it’s own kind of magic going on there” MAGIC YEARS Killer Queen’s first public shows were at London University\, following in the footsteps of the real Queen who had played their first shows there decades earlier. \nKiller Queen’s UK popularity grew to such an extent they soon secured a residency in London’s Strand Theatre attracting nationwide BBC coverage – the first tribute to have a show in the West End. \nThe band’s reputation continued to grow both in the UK and abroad leading to an awards ceremony in Leicester Square\, hosted by Suggs from Madness who presented them with the award for “Worldwide Best Tribute Band”. They also scored a number one hit when they were asked to recreate Queen’s harmonies for “The Real Life” with Fatboy Slim. \nBy now they were in demand in European arenas playing Ahoy and Forest National Arena where Queen filmed the concert set piece videos such as Hammer To Fall and Don’t Stop Me Now. Killer Queen then joined forces with Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles for a Waverley Stadium show in Edinburgh. It was this performance that led to the band being selected to represent Queen in a re-staged tribute LiveAid concert held by Sir Bob Geldof in Malta. They performed with him at his arena charity concert to raise funds for young homeless people. Killer Queen set their sights on America including the awe-inspiring Red Rocks Arena in Colorado –\none of the country’s most prestigious venues. The Beatles\, Springsteen\, and U2 have all played there and the band is delighted it’s become a regular sell-out fixture on Killer Queen’s tour sheet. \nNot a Scottish Rite member yet?
