Jake’s Place Playground
An all-inclusive integrated play area in which all children, those who are able and those with disabilities, can play interactively. The objective is to design an area that is barrier-free, socially inviting, and contains play environment groupings. Build Jake’s Place builds “playgrounds for everybody”. Playgrounds where children in wheelchairs and other assistive devices can play alongside others with ease. Even parents and grandparents with a disability can play and interact with the children.

In celebration for Autism Awareness Month this April, Dooney’s Pub in New Jersey is donating $1 for every Guinness sold to the Eagles Autism Foundation to support neighborhood favorite Irish musician, Ray Coleman’s fundraiser for his daughter, Céilí! In addition, Dooney’s will be hosting Autism Awareness Night! Special events of the night will include a live music performance from Ray Coleman at 6PM, an opportunity to get your face screen printed on a Guinness pint, giveaways, and more. The special night will be held on Thursday April 25 at their Delran location and on Saturday 27 at their Voorhees location.
Adventure Aquarium Sensory Sundays
Sundays during the Aquarium’s first hour of operation.
Adventure Aquarium is committed to creating an inclusive, entertaining, and educational experience for all guests, including those with autism and other sensory sensitivities, for whom a typical trip to the Aquarium can be much more challenging. As part of an ongoing effort to create an inclusive experience for those with sensory challenges, Adventure Aquarium hosts special sensory-inclusive hours called Sensory Sundays, which take place on the third Sunday of every month from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners are proud to be sponsoring the Camden County Miracle League for our 11th year! Games take place on Saturday mornings at Boundless Field in Challenge Grove Park in Cherry Hill. Our spring session starts on April 13th and runs through June 1st. Players from ages 5 through 12 years old will play from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and players ages 13 years through adult play from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. Registration is now open.
Camp Sun-N-Fun
Camp Sun ‘N Fun was founded by The Arc Gloucester in 1962 to offer children and adults with developmental disabilities an opportunity to participate in and enjoy summer recreational activities. Located on over 30 wooded acres in Williamstown, NJ. Camp Sun ‘N Fun boasts a variety of amenities, including air-conditioned cabins, barrier-free bathrooms and showers, an Olympic-sized barrier-free swimming pool, nature trail, open areas for sports and recreation, an on-site medical facility that is staffed 24 hours a day, and Sunshine Inn an air-conditioned building where campers eat and enjoy activities if the weather is too hot or rainy.

Welcome to Camden Counties virtual fitness classes! Camden County offers a variety of inclusive classes that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. The classes include a high-intensity boxing workout taught by boxing professional Alex Barbosa from TKO Fitness in Cherry Hill, a fitness class presented by Coach Rob that fosters a supportive and encouraging environment of like-minded people, and a complete yoga workout for both the body and mind presented by Debra Flagg CYI. Our livestream shows make it easy for those who run schools, libraries, and kid-friendly venues to bring the magic of music to the children they serve in a way that is educational, entertaining, and safe. This month we will be exploring some Thanksgiving themed crafts by pressing items from nature into salt dough and creating a veggie turkey. Our licensed occupational therapist will guide your children through exploration of feeding and eating, sensory integration, and social skills in a supportive play based environment.
