Medford Canoe Trail
The two-mile Medford Canoe Trail on the Southwest Branch of the Rancocas Creek begins in Medford Park and ends at historic Kirby’s Mill. It offers superb scenery with lush vegetation and tranquil waters. The Medford Canoe Trail is a natural stream subject to changing weather and natural conditions. While efforts have been made to clear the stream, all canoeists need to be aware that potential obstructions (logs or newly fallen trees) may be present.
Directions to the Medford Canoe Trail
There is easy access to the canoe trail in Medford Park a very short distance from Main Street. It is accessible from Gill Road (see map) off Allen Avenue. You will need to carry your canoe or kayak about 50 yards from the parking area to the water. The most convenient access point is in the Park at the foot of Coates Street (see map) where a playground, picnic facilities and parking close to the launch site are available. The trail ends at a landing at Kirby’s Mill on Church Road (see map). You may also begin at Kirby’s Mill and paddle upstream to Main Street Medford.
