Schober Orchards

Although located minutes from the region’s busiest areas, a trip to Schober’s is like taking a step back in time. With rows of fruit trees on their 275 beautiful acres of preserved farmland, you may see their workers hand-picking the fruit during harvest season.  And depending on the season, you may see baskets of colorful and delicious apples, peaches, or nectarines as you enter the parking lot. You’ll also find the freshest local produce in season.

John Hurff, owner of Schober’s, represents the fourth generation of the family to run this farm.  His children, Johnny, Jason, and Faith, are the farm’s fifth generation. His parents, Myron and Darlene, turned the farm over in 2007 after having run the business for 30 years.  Friends from all over our community have visited Schober’s to buy fresh fruit for decades. With a ‘word of mouth’ reputation, and dedicated and loyal customers, they now serve customers from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region.

During your visit, don’t forget to sample some apple or peach cider, and maybe a taste of fruit salsas or butters.
