Cranberry Harvest Hike & Tasting
September 23, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT
Please join us for one of our safe staff guided hikes to learn about New Jersey cranberries, their history, taste some cranberry products and keep our eyes peeled for harvest activity on the farm! This is a historic farm established in 1857 in the NJ Pine Barrens and today it is part of the state forest. Whitesbog Preservation Trust is the nonprofit that cares for the village buildings and trails, provides educational programs for all ages, but we are not the farmers! We will tour buildings in the village, taste local cranberry products and look out over the cranberry bogs.
Hikes will be about an hour long and will be guided by a staff member who is knowledgeable about Cranberry Harvest in the State of New Jersey. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to be on your feet. We advise you bring bug spray and wear comfortable clothing which covers your body. Hike lengths vary but can be anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 miles. You MUST buy tickets online in advance and select a time.
