MAC-VAC Veterans’ Art Exhibit Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary Through Art, Reflection, and Service

The Medford area communities are invited to experience a moving tribute to America’s 250th anniversary through the eyes and creativity of local veteran artists in the exhibit, “A Celebration & Reflection on America’s Semiquincentennial.” The exhibit will be on display from May 15th through December 31st, 2026, at the Medford Township Building, 49 Union Street, Medford, NJ.
The exhibit features original works created by members of MAC-VAC (Military Artist Community | Veteran Art Class), a unique and inspiring group of veteran artists who come together to create, connect, and heal through artistic expression.
Founded in 2018, MAC-VAC was created by artist Art Smith as a supportive artistic community for veterans. As the program grew, local art instructor Toni Frary joined as co-teacher, helping to foster an environment where veterans could explore creativity, share personal experiences, and build lasting camaraderie through art.
Today, Toni Frary continues to teach the free Veterans Art Class at the Protestant Community Church in Medford Lakes, NJ. Through painting, drawing, mixed media, and other artistic mediums, MAC-VAC artists continue to inspire audiences while demonstrating the healing power of creativity and community.
The exhibit explores themes of patriotism, sacrifice, freedom, resilience, and the evolving story of America through the lens of those who have served our country. Visitors will experience deeply personal artistic interpretations reflecting both celebration and thoughtful reflection as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
This exhibit was coordinated by ELM Gallery and Art Goes To Town, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in honor and support of MAC-VAC and the veteran artists who continue to enrich the community through their work.
