Moorestown Theater Company Presents Pulitzer Prize & Tony Award Winning “RENT”

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will perform the PG-13 rated “RENT” six times at First Methodist Church (FMC), 446 E. Camden Avenue, on these dates and times:

Jonathan Larson’s “RENT” continues the busiest portion of MTC’s 2024 Season, as it will present 38 performances of six different musicals in the 54 days between July 1 and August 23. After “RENT”, MTC will present “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” (after opening with “Cinderella, Youth Edition”, “Grease, School Version”, “Fiddler On The Roof”, and “Willy Wonka JR.”). In “RENT”, MTC’s 17-member ‘Rising Stage’ Cast of ‘rising’ High School Seniors to 29-year-olds will bring to life the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical that follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS in the late 1980s. Larson’s beloved score includes great songs like “Light My Candle”, “Tango Maureen”, Santa Fe”, “I’ll Cover You”, “La Vie Boheme”, “Take Me Or Leave Me”, the musical theater anthem “Seasons Of Love”, as well as the title song.

This musical has the following Production Staff: Producers Mark Morgan and Carol Ann Murray, Director Thom Sirkot, who is MTC’s Costume Director who is making his MTC Directing debut, Vocal Director (and MTC Trustee) Kristin Li, Choreographer (and MTC Trustee) Jennifer Morris Grasso, and Tech Director Jack Morgan.

“RENT” is the 21st production, and 19th musical, that MTC is performing in its new theater home in FMC’s Fellowship Hall. All Reserved Seat Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door. With the PG-13 rating, for adult language and mature content, “RENT” is a great adult ‘date night’ show!
