Moorestown Theater Company Presents: “Showstoppers: 20 Years Of Summer Stage”

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will continue its 23rd Season with its ‘Summer Stage’ Session IV original children’s musical revue, Showstoppers: 20 Years Of Summer Stage, four times at First Methodist Church (FMC), 446 E. Camden Avenue, on these dates and times:
• Wednesday, August 20 @ 7 PM
• Thursday, August 21 @ 11 AM
• Thursday, August 21 @ 7 PM
• Friday, August 22 @ 11 AM
Reserved-Seat Tickets (on our newly-purchased black-padded chairs) are available online at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org for $13 per ticket ($18 for the first three rows) until three hours before ‘Curtain Time’ (when we have to close down to print seating lists for that performance) or at the door one hour before each curtain time (where they are $15 and $20, so buy ahead of time!). The musical will run approximately one and a half hours, including intermission, and it is appropriate for audience members of all ages.
In Showstoppers: 20 Years Of Summer Stage, the 22-Member Cast between the ages of 8 and 13 will celebrate the 20 years that MTC has hosted its award-winning musical theater camp. Since 2006, MTC has produced 73 Summer Stage children’s musicals. Since it would be impossible to perform a song from each show, our students in Showstoppers… will perform one song from each summer. Some of the shows represented in the revue include: Aladdin, Annie, Cinderella, Footloose, Guys And Dolls, Honk!, Les Miserables, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Newsies, and West Side Story.
Showstoppers: 20 Years Of Summer Stage will be the 34th production, and 32nd musical, that MTC is performing in its new theater home in FMC’s Fellowship Hall since November 2022. FMC has now hosted the second-most MTC productions in its 23-year history (trailing only the 78 performed at Hope Community Church from 2008 to 2022). MTC has these ‘stats’ in its 23-year history:
• 2024: 66 performances of 13 productions by 526 performers
• 2025: 51 performances of 11 productions by 422 performers
• 23 Years: 1,119 performances of 247 productions by 10,379 performers
The Production Staff for Showstoppers: 20 Years Of Summer Stage includes Producers Mark Morgan and Carol Ann Murray, Assistant Producer Annette De Rosa, Director Nick Williams, Vocal Director Giovanna Torchia, Choreographer Brenna McQuoid, Costume Director Wayne Fuller, Technical Director Harrison Kutalek, and Stage Manager Gia Ioele.
MTC, which still has four more productions in its 23rd Season this year, which are all listed on its website, has received these recent awards:
– January ’25: ‘Excellence In Dance’ Award presented to the Cast of “Alice In Wonderland JR.” at the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA (our first ‘Dance’ Award, and 10th overall, after seven ‘Acting’ and two ‘Music’ Awards)
– January ’25: ‘Freddie G Fellowship’ Award presented to MTC’s Founding Producing Director Mark Morgan at the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA
– March ’25: ‘40 Fabulous Females’ Award presented to MTC’s Founding Managing Director Carol Ann Murray by Donnelly Media at the Camden County Boat House
– June ’25: ‘Twink Lynch Organizational Achievement Award’ presented by the American Association of Community Theater at its national Theater Festival (AACT Fest) in Des Moines, IA
– July ’25: ‘Freddie G Fellowship Award’ presented to Mark Morgan by Music Theatre International and iTheatrics in New York City, NY
