Paddle Project with Urban Boatworks

Camden FireWorks is partnering with Urban BoatWorks on a unique opportunity to design and create paddles for use in future paddling seasons. Over the course of two sessions (Oct. 13 and Oct. 20), participants will fabricate a wooden paddle using tools such as table saws and hand planers, refine the paddle using tools such as hand sanders and rasps, and, finally, add their artistic signature by designing and painting the paddle.

Finished paddles will be donated to Urban Boatworks for use on the Delaware River. The originally scheduled session on Oct. 6 is now combined with the session on Oct. 13 — attendees of the Oct. 13 session will begin their project on that date.

Note: Participants for Paddle Project must be 18 and older.
