Battleship New Jersey Hosts First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational on Deck of Historic Warship

CAMDEN, NJ — The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial welcomed 80 competitors aboard yesterday for the First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational, an unforgettable and unprecedented event held right on the deck of America’s most decorated battleship.

The competition featured a 50-clay preliminary round, followed by two elimination rounds on a custom-built trap layout provided by Cedar Creek Sporting Clays. The event brought together enthusiasts, veterans, and corporate teams in a spirited showcase of marksmanship and camaraderie — all in support of preserving the Battleship and its mission of education and remembrance.  Live music and cigar rolling topped things off.

After the opening round, the top four teams advanced to a 24-clay playoff, with the top two teams moving into the Championship Round for one final 24-clay shootout.
