MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will open its 22nd Season with six performances of “Shrek The Musical JR.” at First Methodist Church (FMC), 446 E. Camden Avenue, on these dates and times:

In “Shrek The Musical JR.”, MTC’s 43-member Children’s Cast will bring to life all of the characters of the classic DreamWorks 2001 animated movie: ‘Shrek’, ‘Donkey’, ‘Princess Fiona, ‘Lord Farquaad’, ‘Dragon’, ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Gingy’, and many other ‘Fairy Tale Creatures’. The condensed version of the 2008 Tony-Award winning Broadway musical includes great songs like “Big Bright Beautiful World”, “I Know It’s Today”, “Morning Person”, “The Story Of My Life”, “Freak Flag”, and the post-bows “I’m A Believer”.
This musical has the following Creative Staff: Producer / Director Mark Morgan, Producer / Vocal Director Carol Ann Murray, Dance Director / Choreographer Kelly Peterson, Costume Designer Thom Sirkot, Tech Director Jack Morgan, and Stage Manager John Wells.
This is the 14th production, and 12th musical, that MTC is performing in its new theater home at FMC’s Fellowship Hall, and the 225th production in its 22-year history. All Reserved Seat Tickets are $13 in advance and can be purchased online at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org, or $15 at the door. This musical is appropriate for audience members of all ages.

– The “Community Impact Award” earlier this month from the South Jersey Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, also for the Penguin Project

– “Willy Wonka JR.” (rising 1st through 12th Grade students)
– “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.” (rising 1st through 12th Grade students)
July: “Fiddler On The Roof” (for our ‘Main Stage’ all-ages musical)
August: “Rent” (for our ‘Rising Stage’ musical, for ‘rising 12th Graders to 29-year-olds)
October: XIV Extrava-Gala (our 14th Annual fund-raising dinner dance + auction)
November: “Scenes & Songs VI” (the return of our adult production)
December: “Elf JR.” (for our ‘Holiday Stage’ children’s musical)
