Moorestown Theater Company Winter Open Houses

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will host two Winter ‘Open Houses’ at its Performing Arts Studio at 5 W. Main Street, on these dates and times:

Friday, January 5 from 4 to 6 PM
Saturday, January 6 from 10 AM to Noon

We will host these ‘Open Houses’ for potential Students and their Families who are interested in registering for MTC’s Winter Studio Classes and / or Winter Musicals and want to see our Main Street space where we will hold our Classes and Rehearsals. MTC Staff Members will be present to show the Studio and to answer any questions.

MTC’s Winter Musicals are:

Winter Stage: “Shrek JR.” for students in 1st to 12th Grades
This show has been fully cast, but can add Ensemble members.
Penguin Project: “Seussical JR.” for students in 1st to 12th Grades
This show is taking registrations now, and is for neuro-diverse students who will be the ‘Actors’ in the show, as well as neuro-typical students who will be the ‘Mentors’. This is MTC’s second year of producing a musical under the umbrella of the nation-wide Penguin Project (and we are the first chapter in New Jersey).

Both of these musicals will be performed at MTC’s new theater at First Methodist Church at 446 E. Camden Avenue, with entrances from Camden Avenue, Pleasant Valley Avenue, and Kings Highway.

MTC’s Winter Studio Classes in Acting, Dance, Music, and Play Writing will be available for registration on the website next week, and will start on Saturday, January 20, 2024. There will be a Spring Recital at the end of classes.

MTC has also announced most of the musicals that will be performed in its 2024 Season, including “Seussical JR.”, “Newsies”, “Cinderella, Youth Edition”, “Godspell”, “Fiddler On The Roof”, “Rent”, “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR.”, the return of “Scenes & Songs”, and “Elf JR.”. Sep. 2022: ‘Outstanding Community Theater Of The Year’ from NJ Association of Community Theaters
Jan. 2023: ‘Excellence in Music’ Award at the national Jr. Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA
Jun. 2023: ‘Cultural Access Innovator’ Award from the NJ Theater Alliance (for bringing the first chapter of the Penguin Project to New Jersey)
Nov. 2023: ‘Community Impact’ Award from Southern NJ Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals
