The Greater Elmer Area Historical Society will host their first annual Historical Cemetery Tour on Saturday, October 30, 2021 between 11am-3pm. Six cemeteries in Upper Pittsgrove, Pittsgrove, and Elmer will be included in the tour, covering the colonial era, the 19th century, and the early 20th century.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the historical society, located at 117 Broad Street in Elmer (the former St. Ann’s Catholic Church), beginning at 10am on the day of the tour and will be available until 2:30pm. Tickets cost $10 each, and include a map showing the location of each cemetery open for the tour. Funding benefits the non-profit historical society.

A tour guide will be at each site to share the stories of some of the local residents buried in these cemeteries, including veterans of the Revolutionary War and Civil War, prominent citizens who helped found our communities, and those who suffered tragic deaths. Ticket-holders can visit all six cemeteries, or pick and choose certain sites. Each site’s tour should last about fifteen minutes, or two hours for the entire tour.

We hope you will join us for our first cemetery tour! If you have any questions, please visit our facebook page at, email, or call 609-670-0407.
