MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will perform “The Wizard Of Oz, Youth Edition, six times next week at First Methodist Church (FMC), 446 E. Camden Avenue, on these dates and times:

In “The Wizard Of Oz, Youth Edition}, MTC’s 60-member Children’s Cast, will bring to life all of the characters of the classic movie musical: ‘Dorothy’, ‘The Scarecrow’, ‘The TInman’, ‘The Cowardly Lion’, ‘Glinda, The Good Witch’, ‘The Wicked Witch’, ‘Toto’, ‘Flying Monkeys’, ‘Munchkins’, the ‘Wizard’, and the rest of the members of bot the Kansas and ‘Oz’ communities. The Hollywood movie was nominated for five Oscars, including ‘Best Picture’, winning two (for ‘Best Score’ and ‘Best Song’). The Oscar-winning ‘Best Score’ includes great songs like “If I Only Had a Brain / Heart / Nerve”, “Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead”, “Follow The Yellow Brick Road”, “We’re Off To See The Wizard”, “The Merry Ol’ Land Of Oz”, and the Oscar-winning ‘Best Song’, “(Somewhere) Over The Rainbow”.
This musical has the following Production Staff: Director Jody Haggerty, Vocal Director Suzanne Chadwick, Choreographer Brenna McQuoid, Costume Designer and Producer Carol Ann Murray, and Producer Mark Morgan.
This is the 11th production, and ninth musical, that MTC is performing in its new theater at FMC’s Fellowship Hall. All Reserved Seat Tickets are $13, and can be purchased at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org or at the door. This musical is appropriate for audience members of all ages. Bring the whole family out to be entertained by MTC, which was named as “The Outstanding Community Theater Of The Year” in September 2022 by the New Jersey Association of Community Theaters (NJACT), and which won the “Innovator Award” from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance Cultural Access Network in June 2023.
